About

I am a working mom of two who would love to spend my days with my toes in the sand, but these days my toes are more likely in desperate need of a pedicure, in socks with week-old fruit snacks stuck to the bottom.

This blog may occasionally be sorely neglected due to sleep deprivation, work, a husband, a four year old boy, one year old girl, and the fact that I have killed so many brain cells incessantly watching Go, Diego Go that I can hardly put together a coherent sentence. BUT. I’m trying to carve out more time for myself, to do things I enjoy, which includes writing here.

I recently threw caution to the wind and quit my job to focus on freelance writing and editing. I already have some amazing clients, but I’ll be working to build my reputation and experience, so if you’d like to hire me, I’d love to hear from you!

My husband and I live in the Midwest. He is an electrical lineman (which is the 8th most dangerous job in the world, so you will most definitely read about my periodic freak-outs about him getting hurt at work.) We’ve known each other our whole lives, which makes for a cute story. But it also means that he’s seen me in a diaper and I still had a crush on him even when he was wearing Umbros. Now that’s love.

Our son, Nolan (not his real name) was born in January 2007. Our daughter, Tessa (not her real name) was born in April 2010. They are really amazing kids and I talk about them a lot.

I’m so glad you stopped by. If you’d like to know more about me (goodness, that sounds conceited) check out my 100 Facts page.

Just wanted to say thank you for your kind comment on my RemembeRED — Photograph post of last week. Write on Edge has helped to strengthen my voice and all the wonderful comments I have received have helped to strengthen me. Thank you again!
